Soulfresh: A healthy food and beverage business bringing more exciting and nutritious products to shelves.
About
Soulfresh was founded in 2003 with one van in Melbourne, Australia, with the aim of changing the way people eat and drink for the better. The business takes a stand against unimaginative brands dominating supermarkets, with a sustainable and uncompromising approach to food.
Soulfresh operates its own brands across three core categories - fermented (living) beverages, plant-based products, and drinks - including Emma & Tom's, Lo Bros (organic kombucha) and Not Soda. It also distributes a range of third-party brands, serving an international footprint spanning Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and beyond.
Our journey with Soulfresh:
We invested at the end of 2019. We believe in the mission to disrupt food and beverage with healthier, more sustainable alternatives, and think the time is right for progressive businesses to reimagine the industry. We brought in Ben Clarke - former CEO of Burton's Biscuit Company and former chair of Grenade - as independent chairman.
In 2024, Soulfresh acquired Emma & Tom's, a well-loved Australian brand and certified B Corp known for its commitment to health and wellness. Founded on the principle of "looking after yourself," Emma & Tom's has been a family favourite for nearly 20 years, offering a diverse range of nutritious juices, smoothies and snacks made from the highest quality, mostly Australian ingredients. Post-acquisition, we've taken the brand internationally to New Zealand.
